REGULAR WATER BOARD MEETING
Monday, June 23, 2008

1) The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Member Krueger.
2) The agenda was approved
3) Motion by Krueger, second by Maguire to approve the minutes of May 27, 2008.
AP IF, motion passed
4) Water Use Restriction Appeals
a) 5091 183rd St. W.- Homeowner did not appear, citation stands as issued
b) 20330 Erickson Path- Homeowner did not appear, citation stands as issued
5) Continued Business
a) Water Division Work Report- Information Received. Board Members said they
liked the information and it was good to know.
6) Talking points for the July 14th Council Workshop- City Engineer Schorzman
provided the Board with an outline of talking points for the workshop. Members
requested that the following information be added to the outline or compiled for the
meeting:
. Construction Time, Costfor a 12 MGD plant,
. Clarify costs are in 2008 dollars,
. Bring a simple diagram of a treatment plant, provide information on current
chemical levels and acceptable ranges,
. Provide information on current peak usage, and
. Provide the current balance in the Water Treatment Plant fund
7) New Business
a) Process for Water Meter/Reader Replacement Project- Director of Municipal
Services Reiten shared sample resident letters with the Board He also
discussed potential issues that may come up during the project. The Board
agreed that if there were other issues with valves or plumbing inside the home,
the homeowner could have it fixed by our contractor, but the homeowner would
be responsible for the cost of the repairs. Members also agreed that some sort
of monetary penalty should be associated with homeowners who ignore
repeated attempts to schedule replacement. Member Maguire suggested having
the homeowners initial the old meter reading to avoid claims of inaccurate

billing after the new meter has been installed This process will be discussed
with the Council at the July Ilh workshop.
8) Approve Bills- Motion by Krueger, second by Maguire to approve bills in the
amount of$3,959.37. APIF, motion passed
9) Financial Report (quarterly) - Finance
10) Open Forum-
a) Director of Municipal Services Reiten asked about disposing of the old SCADA
computers. Member Krueger asked if they could be donated It was agreed
that the computers could be disposed of in a manner determined by Director
Reiten.
b) Members asked that water usage information be presented at each meeting
during the summer.
c) City Engineer Schorzman indicated that 33 water citations had been issued as
of the meeting.
11) Motion by Krueger, second by Jensen to adjourn at 8: 07pm. AP IF, motion passed
