MINUTES
REGULAR WATER BOARD MEETING
Monday, October 25, 2010
7:00 PM

1) Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm by Chair Krueger.
2) Approve Agenda: The agenda was approved as presented.
3) Approve Minutes - September 27, 2010: Motion by Maguire to approve the
minutes of September 27,2010, second by Jensen. APIF, motion passed.
4) Continued Business
a) Well #1 Video - City Engineer Schorzman shared with the board the televising
footage of Well # 1.
5) New Business
a) Introduction of New Streets and Utilities Supervisor: Engineer Schorzman
introduced Steve Arndt, Streets and Utilities Supervisor. The Board welcomed
Steve and looks forward to working with him.
b) Discuss Cathodic Protection System Repairs - Municipal Water Tower -
Streets & Utilities Supervisor Arndt explained that the water tower has been
drawn down so work can begin on Tuesday (10/26/10) He stated that the
sediment was removed and the area cleaned. Engineer Schorzman suggested
checking the tower again in 4 years to determine the level of sediment and use
that information to determine a schedule for maintenance.
c) Discuss Cell Phone Related Utility Work- Both Towers - Engineer
Schorzman informed the Board that they may notice some work being done on
the cell phone antennas on the towers. The cell phone companies are replacing
their copper lines with fiber optic.
6) Approve Bills - Finance: Member Jensen indicated that he prefers that purchases
stay local and understands that in some cases that may not be possible. He
suggested contacting local retailers and asking about price matching. Motion by
Krueger, second by Jensen to approve bills in the amount of$19,136.84. APIF,
motion passed.
7) Open Forum
a) Engineer Schorzman stated that there will be another bill for Well House #1 on
next months bills. The total for the project was $16,000 less than estimated.
Wells 5 & 7 will be looked at next year.

b) Supervisor Arndt also indicated that the backup they had in place while Well
#1 was offline (SCADA) worked very well.
8) Adjourn: Motion by Krueger, second by Jensen to adjourn at 7:50pm. APIF,
motion passed.
