APIF, motion passed. 4) Continued Business: a) Well #5 Maintenance: City Engineer Schorzman shared information with the Board related to the sediment level in Well #5. The sediment level had increased five feet from 2009 to 2011. This leaves only 26 feet of open hole below the bottom of the well casing. At this level, it is anticipated that the well could begin to pump sand which could potentially damage the pump, shafts, and bearings, as well as introduce sediment into our water tower and distribution system. The staff recommendation was to bail the sediment from the well as provided by bid alternate 1. Motion by Krueger, second by Jensen to approve bid alternate 1 from E.H. Renner & Sons for Well #5 and authorize staff to direct the removal of 100 cubic yards of material from the well, measure the depth of the well, and, if necessary direct the removal of up to an additional 320 cubic yards of material from the well. Total cost not to exceed $81,000. APIF, motion passed. 5) New Business: None 6) Approve Bills - Finance: Motion by Maguire, second by Krueger to approve bills in the amount of$14,449.76. City Engineer Schorzman indicated that homes served by private sewer and water are required to hook-up to City services if they are available. b) Updates on the maintenance of Wells #5 and #7 will be brought to the next meeting. Adjourn: The meeting adjourned at 7:45pm. Respectfully submitted, Kevin Schorzman City Engineer
