HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/27/14MINUTES REGULAR WATER BOARD MEETING Monday, January 27, 2014 7 :00 PM Council Conference Room 169 City Hall 430 Third Street Farmington, MN Members Present: Weierke, Jensen, Snobeck (arrived at 7:15pm) Members Absent: None Staff Present: City Engineer Schorzman, Administrative Assistant Miller, 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chair Weierke at 7:03 p.m. 2. Approve Agenda MOTION by Jensen second by Weierke to approve the agenda as presented. APIF, Motion Carried. 3. Approve Minutes November 25, 2013 MOTION by Weierke, second by Jensen to approve the minutes as presented. APIF, Motion Carried. 4. Continued Business a. Farmington Well Electrical /Control Equipment Evaluation Engineer Schorzman reviewed the report from Stantec. After discussion, Engineer Schorzman was directed to bring this back to the February meeting with the current well schedule, and show how /when these items can be worked in as well as estimated costs. 5. New Business a. Proposed Verizon Lease Main Tower Engineer Schorzman updated the board on this project. There had been no communication with Verizon until recently. They are ready to proceed and agreed to the City's terms. He will bring a copy of the new lease for review at the February or March meeting. b. Water Public Notices Due to failure to collect water samples the week of Thanksgiving, the City was required to notify the residents by publishing public notices in the local newspaper. This has been done and a copy of the notices will be sent to the Minnesota Department of Health to show compliance. c. Utility Analysis Software Engineer Schorzman clarified that the annual cost would be $1,800 and that setup is actually $6,000 and not 53,000 as originally stated. This software will provide more accurate information and generate more specialized reposts for staff and the boards use The Board agreed this would be it beneficial investment. 6. Approve Bills Motion by Weierke second by Snobeck to approve the bins as presented in the amount of 542,876.66. APIF, Motion Carried 7. Open Forum a. Reviewed the well report 8.
