DISCUSSION The topic of Comnnity Solar Gardens was originally discussed at a Special Planning Commission fleeting held on May 27,2015 and was then discussed as a draft ordinance at the Commission's regular neeting on July 14,2015. The definition that is proposed with the ordinance is as follows: COMMUNITY SOLAR GARDEN: A solar electric array with multiple subscribers connected to the utility grid and where subscribers may purchase a portion of the power produced by the array and receive a credit on their utility bill. Utlity customers within the community solar garden service area can consist o1 but not limited to,residences,businesses,local units of goverment,non-profits and faith-based organizations. With the ordinance,staff is proposing allowing Community Solar Gardens as a conditional use within the A-1,Agriculture District. ACTION REQUESTED Recomn end approval of the attached ordinance and forward that recommendation onto the City Council. The ordinance also proposes a definition for Data Center. DISCUSSION The topic of Data Centers was originally discussed at a Special Planning Commission meeting held on May 27,2015 and was then discussed as a draft ordinance at the Commission's regular meeting on July 14,2015. The definition that is proposed with the ordinance is as follows: DATA CENTER A centralized repository,either physical or virtual,for the storage,management,and dissemination of data and infonrntion pertaining to a business or businesses. With the ordinance,staff is proposing allowing Data Centers as a permitted use within the following zoning districts: • B-1(Highway Business) • B-3(Heavy Business) • SSC(Spruce Street Conuercial) • Business/Co nnercial Flex • IP(Industrial Park) • I-1(Industrial) ACTION REQUESTED Recomn end approval of the attached ordinance and forward that recommendation onto the City Council.
