SUBJECT: Canvass Results of November 8, 2016, General Election
DATE: November 14, 2016
DISCUSSION
The General Election was held on Tuesday,November 8, 2016, and as part of that election,the
seat for mayor,two city council seats and two referendum questions were included on the ballot.
The attached resolution shows the election results.
ACTION REQUESTED
Approve the attached resolution canvassing the results of the November 8, 2016, General
Election and declare that Todd Larson has been elected as Mayor and Terry Donnelly and Robyn
Craig have been elected as city council members. The terms of office for these three seats will
begin on January 2, 2016. The two referendum questions failed.

RESOLUTION NO. R85-16
ACCEPTING RESULTS OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION
November 8,2016
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of
Farmington, Minnesota, was held in the Council Chambers of said City on the 14th day of November
2016 at 6:00 p.m.
Members Present: Bartholomay,Donnelly,Pitcher
Members Absent: Larson,Bonar
Member Pitcher introduced and Member Donnelly seconded the following:
WHEREAS,the position of one four-year term for Mayor, two, four-year terms on the City Council
and two referendum questions were being voted upon;and,
WHEREAS,the City Clerk has hereby certified to the Council the following results of the municipal
election voting:

NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the results of the municipal election are hereby
accepted and that Todd Larson is declared the winner in the contest for Mayor,Terry Donnelly and
Robyn Craig be declared the winners in the contest for Councilmembers and that referendum
questions one and two failed.
This resolution adopted by recorded vote of the Farmington City Council in open session on the 14th
day of November 2016. f
