Call to order Chair Rotty called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm Members Present: Rotty,Franceschelli,Kuyper Members Absent: Rich,Bjorge Also Present: Tony Wippler,Planning Manager,Craig Bongard,Bongard Trucking. 2. Approval of Minutes a. Motion by Kuyper second by Franceschelli to approve the minutes of February 9,2016. APIF, Motion Carried. 3. Public Hearing-None 4. Discussion a.Craig Bongard—20522 Akin Road—Planning Manager Wippler indicated that Mr.Bongard has been trying to sell his property for several years. Due to the R-1 zoning,it is making it difficult to sell the property. He currently has a"Special Exception(Conditional Use)Permit that was granted in 1976,to allow for Equipment Maintenance and Storage,Non-Commercial. As the Commission is aware,staff has had discussions with Mr.Bongard about the possibility of rezoning the property to a B-4(Neighborhood Business)zoning designation and amending the comprehensive plan designation to Commercial.Mr. Bongard is aware that he could petition for these changes and that approval of these changes is ultimately up to the City Council after review and recommendation from the Planning Commission. The Commission was agreeable to reviewing the land use for this property as part of the 2040 Comprehensive Plan if Mr.Bongard did not pursue a rezone and comprehensive plan amendment before then. • 5.
