They include the bids received, however, I have not had time to prepare the bid tabulations, review the bids and make my recommendation. I will forward this information when it is completed. The city has received some competetive bids, however, note that the highest bidder has submitted the best delivery date. MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL SUBJECT: RECYCLING TRUCK. DATE: JUNE 15, 1989 I have completed the specifications for the Recyclable Collection Truck and I will be presenting them at the next Council meeting. Attached is a picture of the type which meets the specifications for your information. This unit will replace our current interim system which consists of a dump truck and trailer with dumpsters. Funding for this vehicle is a part of the Dakota County Solid Waste Grant. Attached is a copy of the Advertisement for Bids. The tentative bid date has been set for July 13th. City Engineer cc: file Larry Thompson Wayne Henneke Bob Williamson Jerry Bauer TJK ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed bids will be received by the City of Farmington, Minnesota, in the City Hall at 325 Oak Street until 2:00 P.M. on July 13, 1989 at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of all labor, materials and all else necessary for the following: Truck Chassis with Recycling Body Plans and specifications, proposal forms and contract documents may be seen at the office of the City Clerk, 325 Oak Street, Farmington, Minnesota 55024. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bidder's bond naming the City of Farmington as obligee, certified check payable to the Clerk of the City of Farmington, or a cash deposit equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid, which shall be forfeited to the City in the event that the bidder fails to enter into a contract. The City Council reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 90 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the date and time set for the opening of the bids. Payment for work will be by cash or check. Contractors desiring a copy of the plans and specifications and proposal forms may obtain them from the office of the City of Farmington Engineering Department, upon payment of a deposit of $20.00, all of which will be refunded to all bona fide bidders, providing said plans and specifications are returned in good con- dition within fifteen (15) days after the date set for the opening of bids. A bona fide bidder is one who actually signs and submits a bid. No money will be refunded to any person who obtains plans and specifications and does not submit a bid to the Owner. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities therein and further reserves the right to award the contract to the best interests of the City.
