Tom DUDwell Buetow & Associates, Inc ' Architects and Engineers 2345 Rice Street Saint Paul , Minnesota 5511,5 R8 Farmington Fire Station Gas Piping Dear Tom' As in our phone conversations I stated that it was unfortunate that the gas piping was not installed according to the specifica- tions but that it was totality by mistake' Even though it is not welded the 5yStem does meet state building code and it did hold an air Lest for an extremely long time at more pressure than t-le system Would ever be subjected to. Therefore it goes Without saying that both Gopher Heating & 3heetmetal Inc ' & our sub- contractor Farmer 's Heating & Cooling Inc ' who did the piping Will stand behind the warrentf just the same as if it had been welded' Also as stated in our phone conversation n that due to this mistake that the difference between the existing system and the spen ' at time of orginal installation would have amounted to an additional $750. 00' Therefore we offer that amount 8s a deduct to the city ' Again we are sorry for any problems this mistake has caused. REFERENCE MATERIALS/RESPONSIBILITY: Recommendation - Dave Pietsch, Larry Thompson REFERRED TO: (NAME) DEPARTMENT: Larry Thompson Administration Dave Pietsch Fire SIGN URE MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL SUBJECT: RESCUE SQUAD POLICY CHANGE DATE: OCTOBER 29, 1985 We are undergoing a small change in the rescue part of the department. Before we had a captain in charge of a fire squad and also the rescue. With the by law changes we are making, this will no longer be the case. There will be a fire captain and two lieutenants in joint command of rescue. I would like to work out some kind of monthly pay for these two gentlemen. My suggestions would be 20.00 per month or about half of what a captain for fire is receiving. These monies could be worked out of the rescue budget by the financial director and myself. Your consideration on this matter would be greatly appreciated. 1 71 (?. Dave Pietsch Fire Chief DP/mh , .
