NAME: Larry Thompson / DEPARTMENT: Administration F-D20. DATE: June 25, 1986 MEETING DATE: July 7, 1986 CATEGORY: Miscellaneous SUBJECT: City Logo EXPLANATION: Discuss application of City logo by various departments. REFERENCE MATERIALS/RESPONSIBILITY: Explanation - Larry Thompson REFERRED TO: (NAME) _ DEPARTMENT: Department Heads SIGNATU MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL SUBJECT: CITY LOGO DATE: JULY 2, 1986 The Council recently adopted a City Logo. Staff has ordered _a number of decals for the City vehicles. A question has arisen as to the use of the decals. Presently, the Fire Department has its own logo, and the Police Department uses a decal of the department patch on the squad door. I am requesting direction from the Council as to the application of the City Logo on City vehicles. I have discussed this matter with the Police Chief and Fire Chief and they have indicated that they will respond in this matter. Larry T ompson City Administrator LT/mh cc: Department Heads file MEMO TO: LARRY THOMPSON, CITY ADMINISTRATOR SUBJECT: APPLICATION OF CITY LOGO DATE: JULY 2, 1986 As a department head, I have some deep concerns related to the newly adopted City logo. In approximately 1976, one of the Fire Department members developed a uniform patch which has also been utilized as a Fire Department log on our Department stationery. Many, many compliments have been made and received from other Fire Departments. I strongly feel that if any logo is to be applied to Fire Department apparatus it will be the existing Fire Department logo. en Kuchera Fire Chief
