MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL
SUBJECT: HRA MEETING ATTENDANCE
DATE: OCTOBER 27, 1986
The HRA has been notified that Thelma Pool has missed meetings on May 7,
June 4, August 6 and October 1, 1986 and has requested the Council to
consider her status. The HRA made no recommendation with the request.
Title 2-9-2(J) of the City Code states that absence of a member from more
than 20% of the meetings during any calendar year may constitute grounds
for dismissal.
I have discussed the matter with Ms. Pool, and she stated that her job
requires several evening meetings on short notice. Ms. Pool indicated
that she would like to remain on the HRA, but cannot assure that she will
make all of the meetings. Ms. Pool's term expires on February 1, 1987, and
she did not indicate if she would reapply for the position.
It is my recommendation that because there would only be 2 meetings remaining
in Ms. Pool's term if removal proceedings were initiated and completed,
that action not be taken for removal.
