It is requested to authorize the Finance Department to advertise for the position in the Farmington Independent and This Week Newspapers. The position of Accounting Clerk is a Grade 3 position in the City's Compensation Plan with a proposed pay scale of$10.24 - $11.91 per hour. The position will start at the minimum of the payscale. REPORTS TO: FINANCE DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1.Provide utility billing and reporting function for the City. 2.Maintain accounts payable function for the City. 3.Receive,deposit and account for cash receipts. 4.Maintain assigned account receivables. 5.Provide information to public and City employees as required. 6. Be committed to providing services to the public in a fair,impartial and cost effective manner and to foster open,honest and supportive communication with fellow employees. The above statements describe the principal functions ofthe job identified but shall not be construed as an exclusive listing of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job. The position is responsible for Accounts Receivable,Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliations, and backup for Utility Billing, General Ledger, and Payroll functions. After August 1,1 995, it has been approved by preliminary or final plat for residential development lots averaging 21,780 square feet or less in area and is land within two miles of the boundary of the City of Farmington (applicable only if all property owners join the Petition) . 6. Not abutting the City of Farmington, but is within an existing orderly annexation area and all property owners join in the Petition. 7. 40 acres in size or less and at least sixty percent (60t) of the property abuts the City of Farmington. 8. The property is not located within an area presently under consideration by the City of Farmington or the Municipal Board for a boundary adjustment. Note: Before your property can be annexed, Minnesota Law requires that a public hearing be held preceded by at least 30 days written notice by certified mail to the Town or Towns in which the property is located and to all landowners within and contiguous to the area proposed for annexation.
