Mr. F.J. Henneberry, President of Water Board, called the meeting
to order with. the following members present: Mr. Chester Brinkman , and
Robert Schneider. Glen Moser Secretary Treasurer, and two Ex-Officio
members from the Farmington High,. School Senior Class; Ed. Berg, and Don
Overbee.
A discussionwas ensured in regard to the rate increase, asked for by the
City Council. The Water Board has requested a rate increased to $22.00
gross . The Council asked the Board to increase this rate to $24.00 per
unit, with. no discounts, but would include sales tax. There being a 6%
penalty if unpaidafter thirty days from billing date. A motion was made
by Mr. Brinkman and seconded by Mr. Schneider, that the above rate in-
crease that the Council requested be made.
The Board discussed the possiblity of obtaining the adopters converting
the older hydrants (Waterous and Iowa) to National Standard threading and
couplings . The Secretary was asked to check on the current prices on the
necessary couplings and fittings for the conversion. There being a good
possibility that the prices may go up in the near future. If the price
is stable at the given rate of $22.00 per hydrant (bid or estimate sub-
mitted by Watercbus previously) , the Secredtry is to purchase the necess
ary parts for the conversion, for 100 hydrants.
Following a discussion concerning several badly leaking faucets in two of
the cafe ' s on 3rd Street, they instructed the Secretary to write them and
inform them that they should be in repair within ten days, or the service
will be either terminated or a meter placed on the line at their expanse.
A copy of the letter to be mailed to the property owner also. The two cafes
being Lisles and Wendy 's Cafes .
Mr. Henneberry gave the two new members a small resume of the Departments
functions, regulations, equipment and history of the Water Board.
