President Robert Schneidercalled the Water Board to order with the following
members present: Brinkman, Shirley, Henneberry and the Secretary. Also present
at the request of the Water Board was Mr. Younger, a representative from tie
accounting firm in Rochester of Quiter,Younger and Swanson. The Water Board
feels that the cost of operating in its present condition is too excessive,
and were trying to determine a less expensive way to have the books, audittd
and the necessary accoBnting done, as well as the billing. Mr. Younger explained
that a tremendous savings could be had especially if the billing were computerizes
and deposits handled thru the bank. He also explained the various forms that
they use and the thoroness of the work done in this manner, with a trail balance
at the end of every month, profit and loss statement, complete account of the
deliquent accounts and the length of the deliquency on them. The Boabd thanked
him and informed him that they would have to take the matter before the City
Council before the final decisionwould be made.
Mr. Brinkman made the motion that the Appendix C of the Minnesota State Plumbing
Code be amended into the Village Building code, after discussing the various
phases necessary to have some control on the type of water service being installs'
in the various size dwellings. The motion was secon 'ed by Shirley. Secretary
to in form the council of this action immediately.
The Board requested that the Sec. contact the local plumbers for quotes on
short and long stub-in services including necessary fixtures, permits, fees
compaction and sodding. This to be done to establish a more equal fee payablr
to the plumbers. The results to be discussed at the next emeeting.
