MINUTES
WATER BOARD
OCTOBER 23 , 1978
The meeting was called to order by President Shirley in the Council
Chambers at 7 : 30 P.M.
Present: President Shirley, Members Mohlis and Juenemann
Absent : None
Visitors : Engineer Rosene, Bill Hince and Jerry Bauer from General
Services , plus several City residents .
Engineer Rosene met with the Board to futher discuss the City' s water
quality. Preliminary testing did not indicate any presence of iron
bacteria. Rosene stated that further study will be required to
determine the cause of rusty water in some areas of the City. He
recommended that the following action be taken of which the Board
concurred:
1 . Obtain water samples of all wells for analysis .
2 . Flush the water distribution system using water only from
well #4 .
3 . Preparation of a new water distribution map of the City.
Engineer Rosene also recommended that the Board consider having a
velocity analysis and water distribution study done sometime in the
future. Estimated cost of this study would be $7 , 000 to $10 , 000 .
Motion by Shirley, second by Mohlis to approve the minutes of the
September 25, 1978 meeting. APIF, motion carried.
Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann to approve the various bills
totaling $11 ,132 . 55 . APIF, motion carried.
Landscaping of wellhouse no. 3 has been deferred until next Spring.
Meeting adjourned at 10: 00 P.M.
