MINUTES
WATER BOARD
REGULAR
APRIL 23, 1979
1. The meeting was called to order at 7 : 30 P.M. in the
Administrators office.
Present : President Shirley, Member Juenemann
Absent : Mohlis
2. Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann to approve the minutes
for the meetings on February 26 , 1979, and April 3 , 1979, with
the following correction to be made to the February 26 minutes :
On the last line the title "Chairman" should be deleted, and the
title "Secretary" added. APIF, Motion carried.
3. Jerry Bauer of Gerneral Services met with the Board to discuss
the following items:
A. A recent inspection by the Health Department resulted in
a recommendation that a backflow-preventor be installed on
the outlet used for filling agricultural tanks. Installation
of this device will prevent the inducement of any foreign
substances into the City's water system.
B. Bauer advised that additional resources are required to
complete the fire hydrant extension program.
C. Additional encumbrances should be installed on the water
tank tower to prevent unauthorized persons from gaining
access. Bauer also advised that the roof on pump house
no. 1 needs repair.
Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann to approve these recommend-
ations, plus authorize $500.00 for purchase of a backflow-preventor
and up to $2,000.00 for hydrant extensions. APIF, motion carried.
4. Motion by Juenemann, second by Shirley to approve the various
bills presented to the Board, totaling $2 , 169. 38.
5. The auditor' s report for CY - 1978 was reviewed.
6. Water fund investments were reviewed and include the following:
Certificate of deposit (1st Natl Bank) $15,000.00
Certificate of deposit (First Fed. S & L) 10,207. 74
Note from City of Farmington 13,964.00
Savings Account 4,785.02
Total $43 , 956. 76
