WATER BOARD
REGULAR
MAY 27, 1980
1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7 : 30 P.M.
in the Administrators office.
Present : Shirley, Mohlis , Juenemann
Absent : None
2. A general discussion was held on the recent reservior tank
repair. The Board was advised that sediment accumulated once again.
A nine (9) inch extension was installed on the outlet for added
protection. President Shirley also related that without the alert
response of General Services personnel, the tank interior would
not have been sanitized. Discussion then followed on the results
of recent flushing.
3. Motion by Mohlis, second by Juenemann to pay a41 bills presented
to the Board, with the exception of the $7, 944 . 03 bill from Master
Tank Co. APIF, motion carried. The Board is interested in an
explanation of the wide variance between the $4, 000 estimate and
the actual bill presented by Master Tank Co . The bills approved
for payment totaled $968. 50.
4. Motion by Mohlis, second by Shirley to approve the minutes of
April 28, 1980. APIF, motion carried.
5. The Board discussed the proposal from NALCO Chemical Co. for
treatment of the Farmington water supply. The Board learned that other
users of this service responded favorably when queried on it ' s
effectiveness . Motion by Shirley, second by Mohlis to authorize
installation of a dispensor by NALCO Chemical Co. for treatment of
Farmington 's water for a trial period of one year. APIF, motion
carried. The Board also authorized purchase of 6, 000# of the agent
to qualify for quantity discount .
6. The Board discussed connecting water service to a residence on
6th Street , south of Elm. Because of the lengthy run, the Board II
recommends that the contractor submit a firm bid, plus have insurance
coverage.
7 . The Board received and reviewed copies of the 1979 City Financial
statements and accountant report .
