WATER BOARD
REGULAR
NOVEMBER 24 , 1980
1 . The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7 : 30
P.M. at City Hall.
Present : President Shirley, Members Juenemann and Mohlis
Absent : None
Also Present : General Services Superintendent Hince , Jerry Bauer
General Services , Elmer Korn representing McCarthy Well
Co .
2 . Mr. Korn presented the Board with a description of the damage
to Well #4 pumping equipment and a cost estimate for replacement
of damaged parts . The failure was caused by a _ separated coupler
at the 130 foot level . Severe erosion was observed on 13 of the
16 sections of column, and on all line shafts and couplers. Korn
recommended that the line shaft and couplers be replaced with stain-
less steel stock. He further recommended that the column interiors
be epoxy coated. The Board chose to obtain other quotations before
authorizing purchase of replacement equipment. Motion by Mohlis ,
second by Juenemain to authorize the City Engineer to prepare specifi-
cations for repair of Well #4 . APIF, motion carried.
3. Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann to authorize payment
of the various bills presented to the Board totaling $2 , 303 . 66 .
APIF, motion carried.
4. Secretary Juenemann reported to the Board that the variance
noted in the financial statement during the October meeting was
caused by an accounting error, which has been corrected.
5. Motion by Mohlis, second by Shirley to accept the minutes for
the October 1980 meeting. APIF, motion carried.
