MINUTES
WATER BOARD
REGULAR
OCTOBER 25 , 1932
1 . The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at
7 : 30 P.M. in City Hall .
Present : President Shirley, Members Bohm & Juenemann
Absent : None
2 . The minutes for the August 23 , 1982 meeting and the
September 27 , 1982 meeting were reviewed. A correction to
paragraph six, line three of the August 23 , 1982 minutes was
noted as follows : The word "national" should be changed to
"federal" . Motion by Bohm, second by Shirley to approve the
August 23 , 1982 minutes , as amended, and to approve the
September 27 , 1982 minutes as presented. APIF, motion carried.
3 . The Board noted that the landscaping plans expected from
City Planner Tooker for Well House #3 were not received as
expected in order to permit landscaping to proceed this fall.
The Board then reluctantly agreed to defer landscaping and paint-
ing of this facility until next spring.
4. Motion by Juenemann, second by Bohm to authorize the City
Engineer to prepare a feasibility study along with cost estimates
for modernization of Wells #1 & 2 . APIF, motion carried. The
Board adjourned briefly to Well House #1 to look into the prospect
of installing a gate valve at the output of Wells #1 & 2 to
permit flushing.
5 . The Board considered a "smelly water" complaint from Bill
Carey. It was noted that the Carey residence is fed off of a
1 inch service. The complaint will be referred to General
Services .
6 . The Board reviewed a letter from the Minnesota Department
of Health stating that a fee has now been established for
analytical Laboratory Services . The cost to Farmington for
a forty-five month period starting October 1 , 1982 is $593 . 50 .
7 . The Board discussed a proposal from Air Signal International
to install a 25 foot antenna on top of the Farmington Water Tower
for a paging system. Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann to
grant tentative approval for this proposal , with final approval
to be contingent upon the execution of a lease agreement . APIF ,
motion carried.
8 . No bills or financial statements were presented.
