HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-28-1985 211 MINUTES WATER BOARD REGULAR OCTOBER 28, 1985 1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7:30 P.M. in City Hall Present: Shirley, Bohm, Juenemann Absent: None. Also Present: City Administrator Thompson, Assistant Superintendent Gerald Bauer, representing General Services. 2. Mr. Bauer advised the Board that the grading at Well No. 4 has been completed and that fill will be added shortly. Paving will be completed next year after allowing the terrain to settle during the winter months. 3. Mr. Bauer also advised the Board that a valve must be installed in the line out in the street in order to isolate Wellhouse No. 1. It was the consensus of the Board to proceed with this project. 4. The Board was queried in regard to the need for checking wells on weekends. It was the consensus of the Board that the wells need not be checked on weekends, except during adverse conditions. 5. Removal of the lower ladder section on the water tank was discussed as a means to deter unauthorized persons from gaining access to the tank. A general discussion then took place regarding tank refurbishing and painting, which is tentatively planned to take place during the spring of 1986. 6. Mr. Bauer discussed the feasibility of looping a portion of the main out in the Hill Dee addition as the future Terra estates property is developed. The Board agreed that the looping would be a worthwhile project. Mr. Bauer also advised the Board that up to five more hydrants ideally should be installed on the west side of Eighth Street as a means to improve our flushing procedures. 7. Motion by Juenemann, second by Bohm to pay all bills presented to the Board totalling $2,969.40. APIF, motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Robert G. Juenemann Secretary
