MINUTES
WATER BOARD
REGULAR
OCTOBER 28, 1985
1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7:30 P.M.
in City Hall
Present: Shirley, Bohm, Juenemann
Absent: None.
Also Present: City Administrator Thompson, Assistant Superintendent
Gerald Bauer, representing General Services.
2. Mr. Bauer advised the Board that the grading at Well No. 4 has been
completed and that fill will be added shortly. Paving will be completed
next year after allowing the terrain to settle during the winter months.
3. Mr. Bauer also advised the Board that a valve must be installed in
the line out in the street in order to isolate Wellhouse No. 1. It
was the consensus of the Board to proceed with this project.
4. The Board was queried in regard to the need for checking wells on
weekends. It was the consensus of the Board that the wells need not
be checked on weekends, except during adverse conditions.
5. Removal of the lower ladder section on the water tank was discussed
as a means to deter unauthorized persons from gaining access to the tank.
A general discussion then took place regarding tank refurbishing and
painting, which is tentatively planned to take place during the spring
of 1986.
6. Mr. Bauer discussed the feasibility of looping a portion of the
main out in the Hill Dee addition as the future Terra estates property
is developed. The Board agreed that the looping would be a worthwhile
project. Mr. Bauer also advised the Board that up to five more hydrants
ideally should be installed on the west side of Eighth Street as a means
to improve our flushing procedures.
7. Motion by Juenemann, second by Bohm to pay all bills presented to
the Board totalling $2,969.40. APIF, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Robert G. Juenemann
Secretary
