HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-26-1987 227 MINUTES WATER BOARD REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 26, 1987 1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7:30 P.M. in City Hall. Members Present: Shirley, Juenemann, Bohm. Members Absent: None. Also Present: Finance Director Henneke, City Engineer Kaldunski. 2. A discussion was held on the 1987 Budget with Finance Director Henneke. 3. City Engineer Kaldunski discussed various proposed projects scheduled for completion in 1987. 4. The Board discussed the possibility of installing water meters in all residences, business places and so on in the City with Mr. Kaldunski. The subject will be discussed further at a later date. 5. The City Engineer reported that he will proceed with exploring the possibility of joining the City of Farmington's water system with that of the City of Lakeville. 6. The Board briefly discussed the possibility of raising the water rates. As a result of this discussion, it was decided that Finance Director Henneke and Engineer Kaldunski will attend the next meeting to further discuss the water rates and to study the budget and proposed projects to see if a raise in rates can be justified. 7. Motion by Juenemann, second by Bohm to have the City Engineer proceed with the painting of the exterior of the water tower. APIF, motion carried. 8. The next item was the possibility of extending water and sewer to the Dakota County Fairgrounds. Although the Board felt this was a much needed extension, many factors have yet to be worked out since the Fairgrounds are not within the City limits. 9. Motion by Juenemann, second by Shirley to appoint Member Bohm to the Secretary/Treasurer position of the Water Board. Motion carried. *Note: We all need to salute Bob Juenemann for the fine job he did as Secretary/Treasurer. Mr. Juenemann will now take Member Bohm's place as a member on the Water Board.
