HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-23-1987 228 MINUTES WATER BOARD REGULAR FEBRUARY 23, 1987 1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7:30 P.M. 111 Members Present: Shirley, Juenemann, Bohm. Members Absent: None. Also Present: Finance Director Henneke, City Engineer Kaldunski. 2. Discussion was held on the looping of the water main from Terra Addition to the Hill Dee cul-de-sac on Upper 183rd Street. We received a summary of the project costs for the job, which is $9,226.08, from consulting engineer Robert W. Rosene. Motion by Juenemann, second by Shirley to pay the Water Boards portion of the cost of $9,226.08. APIF, motion carried. 3. Discussion was held on the Water Works Operator's school. Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann to authorize three employees (Jerry Bauer, Don Dahl, Tom Kaldunski) to attend the school on April 7, 8 and 9, 1987 at the Thunderbird Motel at a cost of $51.00 per person for a total cost of $153.00. APIF, motion carried. 4. The painting of the water tower was discussed. The painting of the word "Farmington" on the tower will cost approximately $500.00. City Engineer Kaldunski will have all the final details ready for the next Water Board meeting. It is possible the painting could be completed by May. 5. Several other projects that are pending for possible 1987 completion were discussed. 6. 1987 expenditures and revenues for the operation of the Water Board were presented by Finance Director Wayne Henneke. A lengthy discussion followed. Mr. Henneke will have copies of the figures arrived at ready for the next Water Board meeting. 7. An increase in water rates was reviewed by the Board. It was the consensus of the Board to hold the cost as is for now. 8. Motion by Juenemann, second by Bohm to authorize payment of the bills totaling $2,030.68. APIF, motion carried. 9.
