MINUTES
WATER BOARD
REGULAR
JUNE 1, 1987
1. This meeting was deferred from May 26, 1987 when there was a lack of
quorum. The meeting was opened by President Shirley at 7:30 P.M. in City Hall.
Present: Juenemann, Shirley.
Absent: Bohm.
Also Present: Wayne Henneke, City Finance Director.
2. Director Henneke, representing City Engineer Kaldunski, advised the Board
that the coating of aluminum paint just recently applied to the water tower,
has begun to bubble and peel. The contractor has agreed to coat the entire
exterior of the tower using a silicone-alkyd enamel at no additional cost to
the City. However, it was noted that the lower five rings of the tower need
to be sandblasted in order to allow the new paint to adhere properly. The
estimated cost of sandblasting is $4,620, making the total cost for painting
the tower to be $9,370. Motion by Shirley, second by Juenemann authorizing
a change order to the contract to allow sandblasting of the lower five rings
of the tower at a cost of $4,620. APIF, motion carried.
3. The Board accepted a proposal from the Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik
Engineering firm for a water system analysis for the City of Farmington in
the amount of $15,000. The board deferred action until the next meeting,
three weeks from this date, when the entire Board is expected to be $resent.
4. Motion by Juenemann, second by Shirley to authorize payment of all bills
presented to the Board totalling $4,070.96.
Respectfully submitted,
R.G. Juenemann
