WATER BOARD
SPECIAL
DECEMBER 8, 1987
1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Shirley in City Hall at 7:30 P.M.
Members Present: Shirley, Juenemann, Bohm.
111 Members Absent: None.
Also Present: City Engineer Kaldunski.
2. As requested by the Board, Engineer Kaldunski presented the Board with a
memo regarding maintenance and repair of Well #3. A lengthy discussion took
place. A few sections of the shaft, a coupling and a pump bowl taken out of
the well were examined by the Board. All showed signs of wear (after approximately
30 years of service) . Motion by Juenemann, second by Shirley to authorize payment
for parts and labor in the amount of $12,506.00 needed to put Well #3 back in
top shape. APIF, motion carried.
3. The next item for discussion was the WAC (Water Availability Charge) .
The Board was informed that it was best to wait until it had received the
Comprehensive Water Report in order to support the implementation of a Water
Availability Charge.
4. The Board discussed water rates and meters.
5. There was a discussion on the possibility of hooking up to the Empire
Township and/or the City of Lakeville water mains.
6. Motion by Juenemann, second by Bohm to authorize payment of the bills
totalling $2,269.17. Motion carried.
7. A motion was introduced and seconded to adjourn. Motion carried.
