HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-19-1988 244 MINUTES WATER BOARD REGULAR JULY 19, 1988 1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley at 7:30 P.M. in City Hall. Members Present: Shirley, Juenemann, Sauber. Members Absent: None. Also Present: Finance Director Henneke 2. The Board reviewed the proposed 1988 budget with Finance Director Henneke. Mr. Henneke explained that income from Delinquent accounts will now be included under the "water user fees" category. Employee benefits, appearing for the first time in the water fund budget, are apportioned to each city department. An increase in the "capital project" category is attributed to the recent repair of well no. 4 and to the Water Supply and Distribution Study. Mr. Henneke also explained that 1988 income was lagging expenses up to this time, however, the mid year rate increase should correct this deficiency. Motion by Juenemann, second by Shirley to accept the budget as proposed. APIF, motion carried. 3. The Board discussed bulk sales of City water by delivery in tanker vehicles for agricultural or construction use. It was the consensus of the Board that tankers should not be loaded during the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. in consonance with current watering restrictions. Mr. Henneke will survey surrounding communities to find out what sort of rates other cities are charging for bulk sales. 4. The Board reviewed a summary of the Water Funds Certificates of Deposit as prepared by Member Sauber: C.D.# AMOUNT DUE DATE RATE 1144 62,624.19 12/23/88 6.90 1143 16,457.33 12/23/88 6.90 4958 23,159.33 9/21/88 6.90 4928 21,121.62 8/26/88 6.50 It was the consensus of the Board that certificate #4928 should be cashed, when due, and transferred to the checking account in order to negate our deficiency. 5.
