WATER BOARD MEETING
REGULAR
MAY 15, 1990
1. The meeting was called to order by President Shirley.
Members Present: Shirley, Sauber, Wier.
Members Absent: None.
2. Tom Ryan was present to discuss water entry to 513 2nd Street. The letter
of December 15, 1989 was discussed. Pros and cons of costs and Water Board
policies were discussed to try to determine the feasibility of providing water
to this property. It was suggested that Mr. Ryan pay from curb box at the south
side of his property to the back one half of Lot 6 from Walnut Street. Mr. Ryan
would be willing to pay a charge of $500.00 for water availability since it is
not known whether Lot 6 has been assessed the normal $1000.00. Further, an
easement will be prepared by the City Attorney on the west edge of Lot 6 where the
water pipe (1") will be placed to go to the rear of the lot. The easement is to
be provided without charge to the City. The total charge to Mr. Ryan to provide
water to the boundary of 513 2nd Street will be $2,610. A motion was made,
seconded and carried to provide water according to this agreement.
3. It was moved, seconded and carried to approve the bid of Thein Well for
Modification to Well No. 1 in the amount of $67,420.00. This is designated as
Project No. 88-15.
4. Mr. Shirley had to leave for other business.
5. There was a request for approval for water to the Ekness property on Linden
Street. This property has been annexed to the City. There is water stubbed to
the property. No charges have been made to the property prior to this time.
It was moved, seconded and carried to provide service and make policy charges
to the property owner of $1000.00 for mains, $850.00 for curb box, plus the fee
for water availability of $500.00.
6. There was a request for Edwin Ebeling to put water into 612 Maple Street. It
was moved, seconded and carried to install 1i" copper main to the front of the
property to provide service. At the same time, a curb box is to be installed to
the front of the property across the street to the north. If the other lot is to
hook up to municipal service they must pay the same costs as 612 Maple Street.
These costs will be $1000.00 charge for main, $850.00 for curb box, plus $500.00
for water availability fee. This is following established policy.
7. The water meter repair at the Air Traffic Control Center building was discussed.
It was moved, seconded and carried to approve repair costs.
8. A motion was made, seconded and carried to pay the bills as submitted.
