HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967 1 FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION May 3, 1967 Those attending the first meeting of the Farmington Planning Commission on May 3, 1967 were Roy Rademacher Warren Sifferath, Dick Johnson, U. J. McDermott, Dan"Nicholai and Lity Atty. John McBrien. Warren Sifferath's motion to appoint a Chairman and a Vice Chairman was seconded by Roy Rademacher and all were in favor. Motion by V. J. McDermott to appoint man with most votes a Chairman and the man with the second highest as Vice Chairman was seconded by Warren Sifferath and all were in favor. Roy Rademacher nominated Dan Nicholai for Chairman and V. J. McDermott seconded. Dan Nicholai nominated 'loy Rademacher and Warren Sifferath seconded. Roll call was then taken as follows: Roy Rademacher voted for Dan Nicholai Warren Sifferath voted for Roy Rademacher Dick Johnson voted for Dan ,Nicholai V. J. McDermott vnted for Roy Rademacher Dan Nicholai voted for Roy -Rademacher Roy Rademacher was voted the new Chairman and Dan Nicholai the Vice Chairman. Discussed the By-laws. Motion by Dan Nicholai that the by-laws be established was seconded by V. J. McDermott and all were in favor. Motion by rtoy Rademacher to open nthminations for treasurer was seco dad by Dan Nicholai and all were in favor. Warren Sifferath nominated dick Johnson for treasurer and Dan Nicholai seconded. V. J. McDermott nominated Warren Sifferath and Dan Nicholai seconded. Motion by Dan Iticholai to close the nominations was seconded by V. J. McDermott and all were in favor. Roll call was then t9ken as follows: Dan Nicholai voted for 'ick Johnson Roy Rademacher voted for `'ick tjohnson Warren ifferath voted for Dick Johnson V. J. McDermott voted for Warren Sifferath Dick Johnson voted for Warren Sifferath Dick Johnson was voted in as treasurer. Being no further business the meeting was adjourned. FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION June 28, 1967 The regular meeting of the Farmington Planning Commission was held on June 28, 1967 in the Council Chambers with the following members present: Roy Rademacher, Dick Johnson, Dan Nicholai , Warren Sifferath and City Attorney John McBrien. Motion by Dan Nicholai that the minutes be approved was seconded by Roy Rademacher and all were in favor. Discussed comprehensive planning with Mr. Robert Idem of the State Dept. of Business Development. Being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully Submitted, Virginia Travis Secretary 2 FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION July 26, 1967 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was held on July 26, 1967 with V. J. McDermott, Roy Rademacher, Dick iohnson and Warren Sifferath present. Motion by V. J. McDermott that the minutes be accepted was seconded by Dick Johnson and all were in favor. Discussed city planning and a zoning ordinance with Al Whitman, County Planner from Hastings, Minn. Motion by Warren Sifferath to have the secretary write the State Dept. of Business Development for a list of profesional consultants and questions to ask them was seconded by Dick Johnson and all were in favor. Being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully Submitted, Virginia Trevis Secretary FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISION August 23, 1967 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was held on August 23, 1967 with Roy Rademacher, V.J. McDermott, Warren Sifferath and City Attorney, John McBrien, present. Motion by Warren Sifferath that the minutes be approved was seconded by V.J. McDermott and all were in favor. Members of the council who attended were: Mayor Kliensasser, Clark Snyder and Elmer Brosseth. The Commission informed the council of what had been accomplished so far and asked for any instructions. Interviewed Charles Tooker, a planning consultant, from Beckman, Swenson and Associates of St. Paul. Motion by Roy Rademacher to have the secretary write for recommendations of cities that Mr. Tooker has planned for was seconded by V.J. McDermott and all were in favor. Being no further business the meeting was adjourned. FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION Sept. 27, 1967 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was held on Sept. 27, 1967 with Roy Rademacher, Warren Sifferath, Dan Nicholai and V.J. McDermott present. Motion by V.J. McDermott that the minutes be approved was seconded by Warren Sifferath and all were in favor. Motion by Warren Sifferath to have the secretary write to two more planning consultants was seconded by Dan Nicholai and all were in favor. Being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Respectfully Submitted, Virginia Trevis Secretary 3 FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION October 25, 1967 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was held on October 25, 1967 in the Village Hall with Roy Rademacher, Warren Sifferath, Dan Nicholai, V.J. McDermott, Dick Johnson and John McBrien present. Also attending was Village Clerk Harvey Snyder and Councilman Elmer Brosseth. Motion by Dan Nicholai that the minutes be approved was seconded by Warren III Sifferath and voted in favor. Interviewed a representative for A.C. Russie of Howard, Needles, Tanmen III and Bergendoff. Also William S. Beck of Consulting Services Corp. A letter of resomnendation from Burton Allen, Jr. on Mr. Charles T. Tooker was read. Discussed qualifications of planners motion by Warren Sifferath and seconded by V.J. McDermott to invite Mr. Tooker to the November 22, meeting to negotiate his firm as Planning Consultants for the coming year. The Council was asked to prepare a list on priority basis of things to work on and mail each member a copy before the next meeting. Discussed easement between Cheateau Manor and Sunnyside. Discussed East Side Road. Being no further business the meeting was adjourned. Also attending was Village Clerk Harvey Snyder. Motion by Dan Nicholai that the minutes be approved was seconded by Dick Johnson and all voted in favor. Discussed and completed a Work Program Guide with Charles T. Tooker, a representative of Beckaman, Swenson 6 Associates, Planners. Motion by Dan Nicholai to go ahead on a Work Program and a contract agreement to be presented by December 27th meeting. Was seconded by Dick Johnson and voted as follows: Dick Johnson-yes Roy Rademacher-yes Dan Nicholai-yes Being no further business Dan Nicholai made .a motion to adjourn the meeting it was seconded by Dick Johnson and all voted in favor. Respectfully Submitted, Rosemary Swedin Secretary FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION December 27, 1967 The Regular Meeting of the Planning Commission was held on December 27, 1967 in the Village Hall with Roy Rademacher, Dick Johnson, Dan Nicholai, Warren Sifferath and Village Attorney, John McBrien present. Discussed a 17 unit apartment building on Block 10 Lots 7 & 8 with Ralph Nordine and Gunner Mortenson. Set a meeting for January 2, 1967 when a recommendation would be reached for the Special Hearing of the Council and January 8, 1967. 4 Discussed proposed contract and proposed planning program with Charles T. Tooker of Beckman, Swenson & Associates, Planners. Motion by Warren Sifferath seconded by Dick Johnson to recommend the Council enter into contract with Beckman, Swenson, & Associates, Planners with Charles T. Tooker as Planner. and all voted in favor. Dick Johnson offered his resignation. Being no further business a motion made by Warren Sifferath to adjourn the meeting was seconded by Dick Johnson and all voted in favor. Repsectfully Submitted, Rosemary Swedin Secretary FARMINGTON PLANNING COMMISSION May 24, 1967 The Regular Metting of the Planning Commission was held on May 24, 1967 with all members present. Motion by Dan Nicholai that the minutes be read and approved was seconded by V.J. McDermott and all were in favor. Discussed with the city attorney, John McBrien, the State Statutes on governing land as use for housing developments. Discussed the sub-division ordinance of the Village Council regarding Westview Acres. Discussed developers ordinance. Discussed the State Dept. of Business Development and Mr. Eitem regarding federal funds and a professional planner with Harvey Snyder. Motion by V.J. McDermott to have the secretary write to the State Dept. of Business Development asking Mr. Eitem to attend the next Regular Meeting of the Ccrnrnission on June 28, 1967 was seconded by Dan Nicholai and all were in favor. Discussed a zoning ordinance. Discussed having Mr. Whitman,a County Planner from Hastings, attend the July 26, 1967 meeting. Instructed the secretary to write the League of Minn.
