ADJOURN CITY OF O 430 Third St., Farmington, MN 55024 FARM I N GTO N © 651-280-6800 FarmingtonMN.gov TO: Mayor, Councilmembers and City Administrator FROM: David McKnight, City Administrator SUBJECT: Storm Water Fee Approach DATE: December 2, 2019 INTRODUCTION At the November 18, 2019 city council meeting,the issue of storm water fees and the approach used by the city to determine fees was discussed. The city council asked staff to schedule a work session to discuss this issue before potential new fees go into effect on April 1,2020. DISCUSSION City staff will take the time at the work session to explain the process currently used by the city to determine storm water fees. This "generic" approach has been used for many years. At the work session we can discuss other potential options that the city council may consider. Due to the potential staff work that may be required depending on city council direction,we thought it was important to get this work session scheduled. BUDGET IMPACT Changes in the approach taken to determine the formula used for storm water fees has potential budget impacts on the city and impacted parcel owners. ACTION REQUESTED Hear the presentation made by city staff and provide guidance on this issue.
