COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
JUNE 24, 1974

The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 7:30 P.M.
Present: Daily, Graphenteen, Kuchera, McElmury
Absent: Akin
Also present: Administrator Ford
Motion by Daily, second by Kuchera to approve the minutes of 6/13/74. Apif,
55'tion carried.
Motion by Daily, second by Kuchera to amend the minutes of 6/17/74 by adding the
following: 'Motion by Kuchera, second by Akin to adopt resolution #R61-74,
accepting the dedication of land for a portion of Pine Street west of t e Railroad
and East of Co. Rd. 31. APIF, motion carried". APIF, motion carried.
The primary purpose of the special council meeting was to review the plans and
specifications for the Multi-Purpose Arena which had been approved earlier by
the council and which had been put into final form by the architech. Several
changes were suggested and the architech incorporated them into the proposed
specification form. Motion by Kuchera, second by Graphenteen to adopt resolution
#R62-74 authorizing th-e-T—aking of sealed bids for the construction of a multi-
purpose arena at 3:00 P.M. , July 24, 1974 or as soon thereafter as is practically
possible and legal. APIF, motion carried.
The Administrator informed the council that the city had been notified by the
Minnesota Bureau of Mediation Services that a public hearing would be held to
discuss the petition by teamsters Union Local 320 to have itself declared
exclusive bargaining representative for the Police Officers of Farmington.
Motion by Graphenteen, second by Daily to adopt resolution R63-74, designating
time City Administrator as the official and exclusive representative of the council
in Labor Relations matters. APIF, motion carried.
Motion made and carried that the council adjourn at 10:00 P.M.
