MINUTES
COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
FEBRUARY 3, 1975
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor at 1:00 P.M.
Present: Mayor Daily, Trustees Akin, Graphenteen, Kuchera, McElmury
Also Present: Administrator Ford, Leon Orr, Chairman of the PARAC
(NOTE: This council meeting was previously set for 1:00 P.M. , Jan 31, 1975 and
was postponed to this date. See minutes of 1/31/75.)
The Mayor explained the purpose of the meeting was to review proposals from three
parties which would deal with alternate methods of constructing the multi-purpose
arena.
PROPOSAL #1, Mr. Earl Sharp and Mr. Herbert Bloomberg represented Behlen
Building Systems. They offered two methods.
A. Modified Basic Plan
1. 120 x 241 ft
2. Some items not included
3. Approximate Cost $600,000
4. Architectural fee for plans & Specs - $3600
B. New Design
1. Size 120 x 240 ft. approx.
2. Some items not included
3. Approximate cost $500,000
4. Cost of Plans & Specs $5000
5. Time to construct - 5 months
PROPOSAL #2, Mr. Ken Erickson represented Expertise, Inc.
1. 120 x 214 ft.
2. Optional modular construction
3. Many items not included
4. Basic building 26,108 sq. ft. and approximate cost $360,000
S. Total Approximate cost $603,000
PROPOSAL #3, Mr. Gene Peterson represented Adkins-Jackels
1. Previously modified plans $ specs
2. 246 x 105 plus 35 x 30 ft.
3. Approximately 26,880 sq. ft.
4. Estimated total cost $628,000
5. Additional architectural fees $3600
After a lengthy discussion concerning the relative merits of each of these pro-
posals it was decided to make a formal report to the full council at their regular
meeting at 7:30 P.M.
Motion made and carried to adjourn at 4:10 P.M.
