this spring. llh'offer had been made to the Commission to purchase the trees at a price
of $30 a piece, which included being dug, moved and replanted in areas desired by the

chase as many as were available. It was believed that there would be 30 to 40 of these
trees which would have to be moved. Bill Ford village administrator was informed to con-
tact the FAA. and inform them of the decision of the Commission to purchase the trees.

PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
July 22, 1971
Present: Marlys Miller, Leon Orr, Jay Rasmussen and Phyllis Brosseth.
Meeting called to order at 7:15 by Phyllis Brosseth.
The Commission was informed that the former Women's Club of Farmington,
would be donating $113.66 to the Commission for some type of equipment
for the pool park. Mrs. G. Largerquist said that the former club
hoped that the money would be used at the pool park (Evergreen Knoll).
The Commission decided to wait until spring before purchasing a
picnic table or play equipment so it would not have to sit out during
the winter. It was also decided to place a name plate on whatever
was purchased with their money, identifing it as donated from the
vJomen's Club.
It was also decided to contact the Lions Club and ask them to wait
until next spring to purchase some equipment for the Evergreen Knoll
park. At that time a better idea of what was actually needed would
be known.
Rasmussen informed the Commission that the pool was averaging about
$25 to $30 daily in admissions. Lessons were also going well and there
were between 45 to 50 adults taking lessons on Wednesday evenings.
He continued to say that the bicycles were to be kept on the grass
area west of the parking lot, so as not to dig up the blacktop with
the kick stands on the hot days.
Seeding of the area west of the pool was discussed. The matter was
to be checked into as was the Rambling River park seeding.
A ball diamond at the Evergreen Knoll park was discussed. Leon Orr
suggested that some of the land around the park be used for a ball
diamond. Members of the Commission felt there was not sufficient
area for this east of the pool. It was mentioned that the Commission
would have to begin looking for areas to be developed for ball diamonds.
A non skid material for the bathhouse area was to be checked into by
Rasmussen.
