Regular Meeting

Call to Order
Chair Rotty called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Members Present: Oswald, Larson, Burke, Barker
Members Absent: Rotty
Also Present: Tony Wippler - Assistant City Planner, Lee Smick - City Planner

Approval of Minutes
a) December 11, 2007
MOTION by Barker, second by Burke to approve the December 11,2007 minutes.
APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
3.
Continued Business - Public Hearings
a) Fairhill Comprehensive Plan Amendment, PUD, and Preliminary Plat
Applicant: Newland Communities
The applicant has requested that this item be continued to the February 12,2008
Planning Commission meeting so that they can finalize the PUD document. Staff will
send out a notice to the adjacent properties prior to the next meeting. MOTION by
Burke, second by Oswald to continue this item to February 12th. APIF, MOTION
CARRIED.
b) Revise Section 10-4-2 (D) concerning the frontage of lots - Con't
Applicant: City of Farmington
This item was continued from the December 11, 2007 Planning Commission meeting.
There was discussion at that meeting regarding the frontage of lots on public streets.
The various residential zoning districts may be impacted differently by the proposed
changes. The changes that are proposed at this time will be limited to the R-2, R- T
and R-D zoning districts. The other residential zoning districts would be addressed at
a later date with particular attention paid to the R-1 zone. MOTION by Oswald,
second by Burke to close the public hearing. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
MOTION by Barker, second by Burke to approve the proposed revision to Section
10-4-2 (D). APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
4.
Discussion
a) Comprehensive Plan Update
The Commissioners have a copy ofthe draft 2030 Comprehensive Plan to
review. Once the draft is approved by the City Council it will be distributed
to the adjacent jurisdictions and the Metropolitan Council for their review.
There will be a meeting January 15th at 6:00 p.m. to go over the
Comprehensive Plan and answer any questions.

b.) February 11th Workshop
February 11,2007 there will be a City Council workshop to discuss the
delineation of downtown district and the Neighborhood Preservation Overlay
District. The City Council, Historic Preservation Commission, Economic
Development Authority and Planning Commission will all be invited to the
workshop.

MOTION by Oswald, second by Barker to adjourn. APIF, MOTION
CARRIED.
