ADJOURN Page 1 of 16 WORK SESSION AGENDA MEMO To: Mayor, Councilmembers and City Administrator From: Lynn Gorski, City Administrator Department: Administration Subject: Discuss Transportation Needs and Options for Farmington Meeting: Work Session - May 01 2023 INTRODUCTION: Currently, Farmington does not provide transportation options within the city limits. This work session is designed to allow for a presentation and open dialog on transportation needs within Farmington. DISCUSSION: Will Schroeer the Executive Director from East Metro Strong and Maureen Scallen Failor will be joining the work session to discuss transportation in Farmington. Will and Maureen will be bringing their expertise on transportation within Dakota County. The Mission of East Metro Strong is a public-private partnership of businesses, cities, and counties working together to bring more and better transit investment to the East Metro and catalyze job growth and economic development opportunities. Mr. Schroeer will share a presentation that will discuss the obstacles employers and residents face with not having transportation options available, possible funding sources, and resolutions. Transportation options can come in many different modes. It is important to have this discussion to be prepared for any opportunities that Farmington may have with funding options. DISCUSSION: Mike Verdoorn from Gallagher Benefit Services will present the findings of the study.
