ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
REGULAR
JANUARY 11, 1990
1. Meeting called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairperson Riste.
Members present: Riste, Mayer, Meyer, Ruberto, Sprute
Members absent : None
Others present: Director Henricks
2. Motion by Meyer, second by Sprute, to approve minutes of the December 14, 1989
meeting, APIF, Motion Carried.
3. Director provided an overview of projects within the community. Farmington
Green has met with little interest at this time. The Industrial Park efforts
are moving toward a positive resolve. Senior Housing is being addressed by the
HRA.
In an effort to continue to encourage Marigold Dairy's expansion plans in
Farmington, the Commission suggested to present Marigold a basket filled with various
Community identification symbols, candies, and flowers. The school volunteered
to contribute Tiger Tee Shirts and other items associated with the school.
4. Chairperson Riste referenced the paying of the $500.00 for the Beautification
Committees efforts in the downtown area. The commission directed the Director
to have this bill paid.
5. Chairperson Riste informed the Commission of the activities of the newly formed
Community Arts Council and their statement of vision.
6. Commission instructed the Director to submit the 1989 budget share to each of the
participating organizations as soon as possible. Also, the Director is to submit
a copy of the approved 1990 budget to each organization emphasizing that the new
billing method will be on a quarterly basis in place of the yearly billing.
7. Chairperson Riste explained the project Celebrate Dakota County Expos was to be
held at the Dakota Technical College. This is to be an informational opportunity.
8. Motion by Mayer, second by Meyer, to approve bills as submitted, APIF, Motion
Carried.
9. Motion by Sprute, second by Meyer, to adjourn meeting at 8:45 P.M. , APIF, Motion
Carried.
