ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
REGULAR
NOVEMBER 8, 1990
1. Meeting called to order by Chairperson Riste at 4:30 P.M.
Members Present: Riste, Galler, Meyer
Members absent: Ruberto, Sprute
Also Present: Director Henricks
2. MOTION by Meyer second by Galler to approve minutes of the October 11, 1990
meeting as presented. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
3. The Commission reviewed the Director's salary noting the grading evaluation
system used by the City Council. MOTION by Galler second by Meyer to increase
the Director's salary by 3% for the 1991 fiscal year. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
4. A brief note of projects:
A. Blandin Community Leadership Program - Public meeting on November 20, 1990
at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council chambers.
B. Star City - Work plan, industrial surveys and profiles were underway.
C. Industrial Park - Improvements are 90% complete with Thelen building under
construction.
D. Elm Park - Developers are securing financing on the project.
E. Exchange Bank Building - A developer is preparing plans and final cost figures.
5. After a brief discussion, the commission felt that a general planning session could
be held in January 1991. The holiday season presents conflict in times for a
December meeting.
6. Director Henricks reviewed with the EDC the efforts by the Dakota County Economic
Development Task force. The group has met several times having progressed to the
stage of formulating the enclosed work group report. More information will be
forthcoming as the group continues to meet and work on their objectives and goals.
7. MOTION by Meyer second by Galler to approve payment of bills as presented. APIF,
MOTION CARRIED.
8. MOTION by Riste second by Meyer to adjourn meeting at 5:15 P.M. APIF, MOTION
CARRIED.
