I t is als o appropriate during introducons for members to share how long they have s erved on their res pecve commis s ions . The commissions are interested in dis cus s ing how the current program and event partners hips are going and if there are other opportunies to partner on programs and/or events. Parcipaon numbers for S ummer Park A dventures and P uppet Wagon in Empire Township are as follow s : S ummer Park A dventures at S achs Park June 15 – J uly 1: 5 July 13 – 29: cancelled due to low numbers Puppet Wagon at S achs Park June 18: 232 June 25: 292 July 2: 189 July 16: 302 July 23: 129 July 30: 116 A ugust 6: 212 TO :Farmington Parks and Recreaon Commission M embers F R O M :Kellee O mlid, Parks and Recreaon D irector S U B J EC T:Music/Entertainment in Parks DATE:O ctober 11, 2021 B A C KG R O U N D Farmington Parks and Recreaon and Empire Tow ns hip both provide free entertainment in parks to res idents and visitors . The dis cus s ion could include, but not limited to, type of entertainment that is held, funding for the entertainment, locaons w here entertainment is held, and recommendaons for entertainment. Parks and Recreaon hosts four concerts in the parks . The concerts w ere held the las t Wednesday of each month M ay through A ugust. The four concerts w ere a+ended by approximately 512 people. Parks and Recreaon als o s how s tw o movies in the parks. O ne movie w as held in July and the s econd in S eptember. There were approximately 374 people that a+ended the two movies . This agenda topic is an opportunity for both commissions to discuss other programs and events that aren’t on the agenda. Farmington Parks and Recreaon Commission is interested in dis cus s ing with Empire Tow ns hip Parks and Recreaon C ommis s ion the types and us age frequency of the ballfields. Empire Township Parks and Recreaon C ommis s ion w ill dis cus s this year ’s celebraon. H owever, this year due to planning and uncertainty w ith C O V I D -19 a one-day event w as held in S eptember. Parks and Recreaon D irector O mlid w ill dis cus s this year ’s event and possible plans for next year.
