A n update on the proces s and park mas ter plan will be provided. The commissions are interested in dis cus s ing how the current program and event partners hips are going and if there are other opportunies to partner on programs and/or events. This agenda topic is an opportunity for both commissions to discuss other programs and events that aren’t on the agenda. TO :Farmington Parks and Recreaon Commission M embers F R O M :Kellee O mlid, Parks and Recreaon D irector S U B J EC T:Review Food Truck Events and D is cus s 2023 Event(s) DATE:O ctober 10, 2022 B A C KG R O U N D Farmington Parks and Recreaon Commission and Empire Township's Parks and Recreaon Commission collaborated for the first me ever on tw o food truck events in 2022. The events w ere held on F riday May 20 and S eptember 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at S telz el Ball F ields . C ommis s ion members should be prepared to review this year ’s food truck events and dis cus s the event(s ) for next year. TO :Farmington Parks and Recreaon Commission M embers F R O M :Kellee O mlid, Parks and Recreaon D irector S U B J EC T:Update on Empire Tow ns hip I ncorporang into a C ity DATE:O ctober 10, 2022 B A C KG R O U N D Empire Township is in the proces s of incorporang into a city. Empire Tow ns hip's Parks and Recreaon Commission will provide details and an update on the incorporaon. TO :Farmington Parks and Recreaon Commission M embers F R O M :Kellee O mlid, Parks and Recreaon D irector S U B J EC T:Music/Entertainment in Parks DATE:O ctober 10, 2022 B A C KG R O U N D Farmington Parks and Recreaon and Empire Tow ns hip both provide free entertainment in parks to res idents and visitors . The dis cus s ion could include, but not limited to, type of entertainment that is held, funding for the entertainment, locaons w here entertainment is held, and recommendaons for entertainment. Farmington Parks and Recreaon hos t four concerts in the parks. The concerts were held the last Wednesday of each month May through A ugus t. The four concerts were a+ended by approximately 651 people. Farmington Parks and Recreaon also shows two movies in the parks . O ne movie was held in J uly and the second in S eptember. There were approximately 191 people that a+ended the two movies . Empire Township's Parks and Recreaon C ommis s ion w ill dis cus s this year ’s celebraon. This year ’s event w as J une 23 - 26. Farmington Parks and Recreaon C ommis s ion and D irector O mlid w ill recap this year ’s event and pos s ible plans for next year.
