Call to Order: Chair Pennie Page called meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. Members Present: Pennie Page, Blanche Reichert, Mary Garlets, Pat Hennen, Judy Janke, and Marge Koski Members absent: Others Present: Parks and Recreation Director Kellee Omlid, Recreation Supervisor Missie Kohlbeck 2. Approve Agenda Motion by Hennen to approve agenda, seconded by Koski. All persons in favor (APIF). Motion carried. 3. Approve Minutes Motion made by Garlets to approve March 13, 2023 meeting minutes and seconded by Janke. APIF. Motion carried. 4. Presentations 5. Business Items 6. Discussion Items A. Arts and Crafts Fundraiser The ads on Facebook will be boosted this week. We will start with a $100 advertising budget. Volunteer sign-ups are on the clipboard by the receptionist desk. Advisory board members have given the shifts they are available to work to Chair Page. Chair Page has job descriptions prepared, which will be especially useful at shift change. We currently have 31 vendors. Chick-fil-A has been confirmed for concessions. B. Raffle Fundraiser with the Farmington Rotary Rotary is waiting for approval for the gaming license from the state for the raffle fundraiser. There was discussion about selling raffle tickets at the steak fry if the gaming license is approved by then. C. Steak Fry at the VFW Future Farmers of America will also be working and benefiting from the May 20, 2023 Steak Fry. We will need donations of desserts. Tickets will go on sale May 1; we will sell them at the craft show. D. Programming for Different Generations Discussion included reminding people of the Financial Support Program benefits for those over age 62 and for people to be aware of and hang up on phone scams. Board Member Garlets had several ideas for programming including estate planning, financial planning, grandparent classes, pre-planning funerals/cremation, and care for aging parents. E. Market and Promote the Rambling River Center Staff had a rough draft of a tri-fold brochure, which advisory board members reviewed. Advisory board members would like it printed in time to hand out at the arts and crafts fundraiser. F. 2023 Work Plan Review Chair Page reviewed the progress of the goals and objectives of the 2023 work plan. 7. Staff Report Informational Updates • HKGi will be collecting input from the community through a survey and social pinpoint map on the Rambling River Park master plan. The survey and social pinpoint map are on the city’s website. HKGi will be at the May 31 Music in the Park concert to seek feedback on two-three draft concepts. • Congresswoman Angie Craig and Senator Tina Smith’s visit was a fun morning with a great turnout. • We have several fundraisers in May and June including the Arts and Craft Fair, the VFW Steak Fry, and the Bike Auction and Kiss the Pig. The Raffle with the Farmington Rotary might also start in May or June. • Staff presented the quarterly participation numbers. • Director Omlid let the board know Board Member Smith resigned from the Rambling River Center Advisory Board (RRCAB). Staff will contact the interviewee to see if they are still interested in serving on the RRCAB. 8.
