Call to Order: Chair Joan Moes called meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. Members Present: Joan Moes, Blanche Reichert, Pat Hennen, Marjorie Koski, Pennie Page, Gina Smith, and Ken Schumann Members absent: Others Present: Larry Smith, Parks and Recreation Director Kellee Omlid, Recreation Supervisor Missie Kohlbeck 2. Approve Agenda Motion by Koski to approve agenda, seconded by Smith, APIF. Motion carried. 3. Approve Minutes Motion made by Reichert to approve December 13, 2021 meeting minutes and seconded by Schumann, APIF. Motion carried. 4. Presentations None 5. Business Items A. Approve 2022 Work Plan Director Omlid reminded the board of the change to a tour with the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council instead of a meeting as previously listed. Motion by Koski to approve the 2022 Work Plan seconded by Hennen, APIF. Motion carried. B. 2022 Garage Sale Fundraiser Last month Moes brought up the scheduling of the garage sale conflicting with the 40th Anniversary Celebration and suggested everyone think about it and decide in January. Motion by Hennen to not do a garage sale in 2022, seconded by Smith. APIF. Motion carried. 6. Discussion Items A. Rambling River Center’s 40th Anniversary Celebration Page discussed the timeline, tasks are progressing. Reichert asked about a spot inside for the time capsule. Smith suggested the showcase. Staff will bring sample of a time capsule and pictures of the park bench to the next meeting. Schumann asked about what to put in the time capsule and to come to the next meeting with ideas. Staff will invite Lauren Siebenaler, Communications Specialist, to the next meeting to discuss promotions. B. Tour Other Senior Centers Kohlbeck will reach out to Apple Valley and Hastings to inquire about touring March 21 or 28. C. 2022 Arts and Crafts Fundraiser Vendor letters will go out next week. Discussion regarding fees; cost will be $35 for a member, $45 for a non-member, and $25 a table. Staff will ask the Model Railroad Club to set up a display and for Farmington Youth Hockey to do concessions. D. Discussion Chair and Vice-Chair Election During February Meeting Director Omlid asked everyone to think about being chair or vice-chair for the next year. The duties of the chair are to preside over the meeting. We will vote on it in February. 7. Staff Report Informational Updates • City hired HKGi to update the master plan at Jim Bell Park and Preserve. HKGi will lead an eleven-person advisory committee of Farmington residents to design the park with the goal to go to referendum in November 2022. The process is just kicking off. 8. Advisory Roundtable Koski – Nothing Page – Could we get a summary of important dates for 2022. Staff will bring one to the next meeting. Smith – Looking at apartments in St. Cloud where son lives. Moes – Do we have any more info. re: master planning the RRC? Director Omlid replied we will do a Request for Proposal and send it to several firms. Schumann – Thank you to Director Omlid and the Advisory Board for the presentation. Reichert –Nothing Hennen– Can you mail me a packet for the meeting? 9. Adjourn Motion by Schumannn and seconded by Koski to adjourn the meeting, APIF. Motion carried.
