MINUTES
COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
MARCH 14, 1991
1. Mayor Kuchera called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Kuchera, Mayer, Orr, Derington, Galler.
Members Absent: None.
Also Present: Administrator Thompson.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss amendments to the City Personnel Policy.
Administrator Thompson reviewed the changes outlined in the Finance Director's memo
dated August 28, 1990 and the memo from the Administrator to Counci1member Mayer dated
January 28, 1991.
3. The following topics were discussed:
a. Part Time Employees - Definition per Appendix "c" and limit to 8 months.
b. Uniform Allowance - Per Budget - must wear.
c. Sick Leave Policy - Immediate Family - Must show proof of communicable disease.
d. Rest Breaks - Rest breaks cannot be taken at beginning or end of shift or with
lunch breaks.
e. Leave of Absence - Up to 6 months.
f. Paternal Leave/Sick Leave - No consensus.
4. It was the consensus of the Council that staff redraft the policy and return it
at the second meeting in April.
5. Councilmembers Galler and Mayer stated they would hear employee appeals on April 3,
1991 at 3:00 P.M.
6. MOTION by Kuchera, second by Mayer to adjourn at 9:45 P.M.
