MINUTES
COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
MARCH 23, 1992
1. Mayor Kuchera called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M.
Members Present: Kuchera, Orr, Rotty, Galler
Members Absent: Mayer
Also Present: Administrator Thompson
2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss 1992/1993 Council goals and objectives.
Administrator Thompson presented a background on the progress the City Council had
made regarding the visionary process, goals and objectives. Administrator Thompson
noted that the Council should list their tentative goals and objectives, and staff
would group them into categories, and the Council could then assign priorities.
Ultimately, the report would be incorporated into a CIP to provide direction to
Council and staff.
3. The following is the tentative list of overall goals and objectives as noted
by the Council and staff.
1. Growth issues
2. Land Uses - Clarification
3. Land Use - Western Farmington
4. Low density housing
S. Infrastructure Rehabilitation - 1 major prospect per year
6. Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan
7. Ultimate Development map of Farmington; including growth issues study area:
A. Zoning
B. Storm Sewer
C. Sanitary Sewer
D. Parks
E. Housing (Clarify types uses)
F. Water
8. Continue searching for neighborhood rehabilitation programs
9. Exchange Bank program
10. "Citizens as Customer" (Ways program)
11. Space need fund
12. Cooperative projects with school district
13. Elm Park
14. 2nd Street parking
15. Meet with Board and Commissions
16. Continued Residential development
17. SE Area Storm Sewer
18. Complete Middle School Plat and athletic complex
19. Fill Industrial Park .
20. Completion of parks
21. Complete 208th Street
22. Farmington preserve
23. Liquor Store study
4. Motion by Orr, second by Galler to adjourn at 11:00 P.M. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
