MINUTES
COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
JUNE 8, 1992
1. Mayor Kuchera called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Kuchera, Mayer, Orr, Rotty.
Members Absent: Galler.
Also Present: Administrator Thompson.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Growth and Annexation Study.
Planner Tooker presented an overview of the Study. Mr. Tooker stated that while
there were no urgent issues that needed immediate action at this time, the Study
did seek direction from the Council in how to proceed because of pending issues
such as annexation requests, 208th Street, pending development and Fairground parking.
Mr. Tooker recommended the report be forwarded to the Townships and Councilmembers
personally contact Township boardmembers.
3. Mr. Tooker reviewed the Study noting:
a. Incompatible Land Uses,
b. Minimum Design Standards for Commercial/Industrial Uses,
c. Comprehensive Plan Conflicts,
d. Government Services Availability,
e. Equitable Payment for Municipal Services,
f. Tax/Financial Impact,
g. Study Area.
4. City Planner Tooker noted various property owners which had expressed interest
in annexing into the City. Administrator Thompson restated the Study's recommendations
noting it was imperative the City begin dialogue with the Townships.
5. MOTION by Orr, second by Mayer to adjourn at 8:50 P.M.. APIF, MOTION CARRIED.
