MINUTES
COUNCIL
SPECIAL
MARCH 29, 1989
1. Mayor Kuchera called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Kuchera, Mayer, McKnight, Sprute, Galler.
Members Absent: None.
Also Present: Administrator Thompson.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to review the City's compensation plan,
specifically, looking at position descriptions. Administrator Thompson reviewed
the development of the position description, noting that they had been drafted
by the consultant after reviewing questionnaires completed by the employees
and interviewing the employees. Mr. Thompson stated that the descriptions were
then reviewed by Department Heads and Council and finally approved by the Council.
Mr. Thompson also presented the proposed job descriptions which had been updated
by the Department Heads and reviewed by the employee salary committee.
Mr. Thompson added that the proposed descriptions had been reviewed by the
Council salary committee, but it had not taken action on them. It was the con-
sensus of the Council that each position description be reviewed, changes noted
and revised descriptions brought back for final approval.
The Council reviewed the following positions, noting certain changes: Administrator,
Administrative Assistant, Clerk/Typist, Receptionist/Typist, Part Time Secretary,
Building Official.
3. It was the consensus of the Council to hold a special meeting on April 12,
1989 at 7:00 P.M. to further review the compensation plan.
4. MOTION by Mayer, second by McKnight to adjourn at 9:15 P.M. APIF, MOTION
CARRIED .
