MINUTES
COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
NOVEMBER 29, 1990
1. Mayor Kuchera called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.
Members Present: Kuchera, Mayer, Galler.
Members Absent: McKnight, Sprute.
Also Present: Administrator Thompson.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the 1991 Operating Budget. Finance
Director Henneke reported that staff had completed its review of the debt service
funds and the levy could be reduced $30,000. Mr. Henneke also presented a survey
of surrounding communities with regard to fire marshals, noting that all either
had a full time or a part time fire marshal. Finance Director Henneke presented an
analysis of the programmer's position relating to the elimination of the full time
Senior Center Coordinator position and hiring two part time Senior Center Coordinators.
A lengthy discussion followed regarding the Programmer/Senior Center Coordinator. It
was the cor.sensus of the Council to include a full time Park and Recreation Coordinator
and 2 part time Senior Center Coordinators. It was the consensus of the Council to
include a part time Fire Marshal position.
3. A lengthy discussion followed regarding the City fleet policy, specificially:
Fire Chief's vehicle, Building Inspector's vehicle and a 2 ton Solid Waste vehicle.
4. It was the consensus that the Park CIP would be changed by eliminating Pine Knoll
trees and adding grading/seeding to Fair Hills.
5. It was the consensus of the Council that the Police Department participate in the
Toys for Tots program by collecting and distributing gifts.
6. MOTION by Galler, second by Mayer to adjourn at 10:00 P.M.
