SPECIAL
DECEMBER 5, 1984
1. Mayor Akin opened the meeting at 7:00 P.M.
Present: Akin, Cook, Orr, Sprute.
- Absent: Kelly.
Also Present: Administrator Thompson
2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various issues with the township
officials.
3. Finance Director Wayne Henneke presented an overview of the 1985 Fire Service
Contract fees, and suggested various changes in the formula. It was the consensus
of the City Council and Town Board members present that the contract formula be
amended to incorporate the previous year's assessed valuations into the contract
formula.
4. Administrator Thompson presented a review on the bonding costs for the new fire
hall, and the impact on the 1986 Fire Service Contract fees. The Town Board members
requested that the City provide additional information on the matter before the
annual Town Board meeting.
5. Administrator Thompson informed the Town Board members that the City had initiated
a rescue squad, and asked if the townships were interested in receiving such service.
The Town Board members indicated that they would bring this matter back to their
various boards.
6. City Engineer Glenn Cook presented a brief overview of the Surface water problem
in the southeastern section of the City and possible solutions to alleviate the
problem. It was agreed that the Engineer should proceed with developing a plan to
drain the surface water, and report his findings to the various boards and City
Council .
7. Motion by Orr, second by Sprute to adjourn at 9:00 P.M. APIF, motion carried.
