COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
DECEMBER 24, 1984
1. Mayor Akin opened the meeting at 11:00 A.M.
Members Present: Akin, Cook, Kelly, Orr, Sprute.
Members Absent: None.
Also Present: Attorney Gorgos.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to consider granting a grading and
excavation permit to Fischer Sand and Gravel, Inc. Discussion followed
regarding the proposed grading, and previous discussions held during
1981 regarding the matter. It was the consensus of the Councilmembers
who were on the City Council in 1981, that representatives from Fischer
Sand and Gravel had appeared before the City Council to discuss the
moving of fill from Castle Rock Township onto the site. Attorney Gorgos
stated that the ordinance had been changed since that time to require a
public heating to grant such a permit. Concern was expressed by area
residents regarding the affect of the excavation upon water tables. Motion
by Cook, second by Orr to acknowledge that Fischer Sand and Gravel had
received, by consensus of the Council, permission to place fill on the
property directly east of the Tom Thumb property during 1981, and therefore
were regulated by pre-grading Ordinance No. 083-150. The Council grants
a permit to Fischer Sand and Gravel Inc. to place fill on parcel number
14-00500-013-25 (property east of Tom Thumb) so long as it does not en-
croach upon any of the existing ponding areas or alter the existing water
courses. Any permit fee is hereby waived. This action does not constitute
approval of any plat. APIF, motion carried.
3. Motion by Sprute, second by Orr to adjourn. APIF, motion carried.
