COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
JUNE 19, 1985
1. Mayor Akin called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M.
Members Present: Akin, Kelly, Mayer, Orr, Sprute.
Members Absent: None.
Also Present: Administrator Thompson.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to interview a candidate for the General
Services Superintendent position.
3. Administrator Thompson informed the City Council that the scheduled
applicant had cancelled. It was the consensus of the City Council that the
two previous candidates interviewed would not be acceptable for the position.
Discussion followed regarding the direction the City should take regarding the
replacement of the General Services Superintendent. It was the consensus of
the City Council that it continue in the direction of trying to recruit and
hire a Civil Engineer for the position. It was also the consensus of the City
Council that it review the recruitment and selection process and consider
readvertising the position at a future date. Administrator Thompson and Member
Sprute were directed to contact the City of Savage to discuss the recent
hiring of a City Engineer. Motion by Akin, second by Sprute that the Council
not consider the applicants for the General Services Superintendents further and
to review the recuuitment and selection process further. APIF, motion carried.
4. Motion by Orr, second by Sprute to adjourn at 6:55 P.M. APIF, motion
carried.
