MINUTES
COUNCIL MEETING
SPECIAL
MAY 18, 1983
1. Mayor Akin opened the meeting at the Burnsville City Hall at 7:45 P.M.
Present: Mayor Akin, Members Orr, Sprute.
Absent Cook, Kelly.
Also present: Administrator Thompson.
2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the proposed turnback of the
County Roads #64 and #74 with the County Board.
3. Arguments against the turnback of the County Roads were presented by
representatives of the City and Ernie Ahlberg of the Fair Board as follows:
1. #64 is part of an east/west County road system, which is
very limited at this time.
2. #74 carries a great volume of traffic, especially during
the fair.
3. The road is abutted by County property, the Dakota County
Fairgrounds and Castle Rock Township.
4. The criteria used by the County should not be weighed so
heavily by volume.
4. The Council adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
