HomeMy WebLinkAbout05.31.83 Special Council Minutes 171 MINUTES COUNCIL MEETING SPECIAL MAY 31, 1983 1. The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Present: Mayor Akin, Members Cook, Orr, Sprute Kelly. Also Present: Admlnistrator Thompson, Members of the Fire Department. 2. Motion by Orr, second by Cook to approve the Capital Outlay request by the Park and Recreation Department for $905.05 to purchase a hot water heater for the swimming pool. APIF, motion carried. 3. I t was the concensus of the Counc i 1 to a II ow any Counc i I membe r or the City Administraton to attend the League of Minnesota Cities Conference. 4. Motion by Cook, second by Sprute to approve the staff recommendation to hire Mary Hanson as Clerk/Typist. APIF, motion carried. 5. Tom Dunwell of Beutow & Associates presented plans for the proposed fire hall. Mr. Dunwell indicated that the building would be 1001 x 1101 and would be located on the site west of the High School. Mr. Dunwell estimated con- struction cost for a fully developed site to be $555,000. The Mayor stated that the Council should look at a possible referendum to be held during October. The Council directed staff to review the plans, ascertain all costs for a fully developed site, list any extra equipment purchases and report back at the July 18, 1983 regular meeting. 6.
