Meeting: Special Planning Commission - May 30 2023
INTRODUCTION:
Great Oaks Academy has requested a meeting with the Planning Commission to discuss the
outcome of the April 11th regular meeting and to continue the discussion of their plans for
expansion at their 115 Elm Street location.
DISCUSSION:
At the April 11, 2023 regular meeting the Planning Commission denied the request by Great Oaks
Academy for a Conditional Use Permit [CUP] to expand a school within the B -2 (Downtown
Business) Zoning District. The school has requested this meeting with the commission to discuss
the outcome of the April 11th meeting and to discuss their plans moving forward.
Please note that Great Oaks Academy has submitted a new CUP application as of May 11, 2023.
This application will be reviewed in depth at a public hearing scheduled for the June 13, 2023
regular Planning Commission meeting. Attached, for discussion purposes only, is the revised
site plan as submitted by Great Oaks Academy with their May 11th CUP submittal. No formal
action by the Planning Commission shall be taken on the attached revised site plan at this special
meeting. At this time the revised site plan is meant to only assist in the conversation between
Great Oaks Academy and the Planning Commission.
